HyperTrain dot Com is a San Diego-based firm specializing in technical publications consulting and training for companies who develop Online Help, User Assistance, Web sites, and other hypertext systems.
We have been in business since the days of "Version 1.0" Help Authoring Tools. We succeeded in our mission to become one of the most widely used and highly recommended hypertext companies in the country by offering polished, high quality professional services at reasonable rates. As a result, HyperTrain dot Com is well known and respected throughout the online documentation industry.
These days, we have broadened our scope of operations, and do much less direct training and much more tech pubs consulting in HTML, JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), XML/XSLT, DITA, customized and conditionalized documents, automated document production, and related technical areas.
Although document production tools and technologies are becoming increasingly complex, HyperTrain dot Com continues to offer practical solutions to your real-world issues. We provide innovative but pragmatic strageties that address your documentation needs, professionally and quickly, while maintaining high content value. Planning, writing, editing, documentation set design and structure, tools recommendation and training, techniques and workflow development, and more is at your fingertips with HyperTrain dot Com.

HyperTrain dot Com's founder and owner, Dave Gash, is a veteran computer professional who has developed application software, technical documentation, and training programs in a wide variety of industries for over thirty years.
Dave holds degrees in business and computer science, and is a W3C-certified Web developer. He is the rare technician who can communicate with people as well as with computers, and is well known in the tech pubs community as an interesting and animated technical instructor with a positive, energetic style that educates, motivates, and delivers results. His enthusiasm for his subject matter is evident, and his plain-English approach to complex issues makes technical material accessible to techno-philes and -phobes alike.
For over fifteen years, Dave has been a popular speaker and presenter at hypertext-related conferences and seminars in the US and around the world, most notably those hosted by WritersUA of Seattle, Washington and HyperWrite of Melbourne, Australia. His overseas conference travels have included England, Scotland, Germany, Denmark, The Netherlands, France, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia.
Dave is also a lifelong musician, and regularly performs at San Diego-area venues as a high-tech solo act called The Quimbys. Their web site, including videos, sound clips, and more, is available here.
And, at long last, Dave's sci-fi novel The ELI Event has been published! It is available now in softcover and ebook formats from the author and from various online outlets. You can read more about it here.
The online information industry is a rapidly moving target. While there is still some demand for structured, predefined classes, there is much more interest these days in tailored consulting. Historically, tech pubs consultants have not adequately addressed this need.
We do.
HyperTrain dot Com specializes in onsite consulting coupled with offsite work. We believe this approach works for all concerned, and has proven to be both efficient and cost-effective for our clients.
Onsite, we can work with you to answer questions, analyze documentation situations, review project plans, offer advice on hypertext design, project management, development, coding, debugging, or implementation, offer help with your authoring tools, and mentor your employees in hypertext technologies. Offsite, we can develop production documents, write strategic plans and technical specifications, create project presentations, and deliver finished document sets that meet your schedule and budget.
Regardless of your technical consulting requirements or time frame, just or call us at 888-722-0700, and we'll work with you to get the job done — quickly and professionally.
